Edwin van Rest elected Vice Chair of EAIE Marketing & Recruitment Board

StudyPortals co-founder and CEO, Edwin van Rest was elected Vice Chair of the EAIE (European Association of Higher Education*) Marketing & Recruitment (M&R) Board.

The elections took place in April 2012 and the results were known by May 9. However, the official appointment and therefore start of the position was announced at the EAIE conference in Dublin in September.

The M&R Professional Section (PS) is part of EAIE’s Expert Community. These Communities help professionals in higher education with typical internationalisation topics and contribute content to the EAIE and its activities, for example in form of sessions or workshops at the annual conferences, articles for the EAIE publications or the various trainings. Each PS has its own Board to coordinate its activities.

The M&R board aims to create a framework for professional and sustainable success in this new and rapidly growing sector of international marketing and recruitment at European universities, with a focus on degree-seeking students. This success is characterised by offering quality education and excellent services to candidates, students and alumni while maintaining maximum cost effectiveness in executed activities.

Edwin is very much looking forward to his position as a board member and to share his knowledge about Europe’s Higher Education Market, as well as to contribute to the development of our profession. His expertise mainly lies in understanding student orientation needs, online technology and result-based recruitment for HEIs. He also has experience in management and organisation as his team has grown to 40 staff members.
